In observance of the federal Juneteenth holiday, all CUSD schools and offices will be closed on Friday, June 20, 2025. Also known as Emancipation Day or Freedom Day, Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and serves as a time to learn, reflect, and celebrate freedom and equality for all. After years of brightening mornings and helping keep students safe, Ed Morgan is wrapping up his time as Carroll Fowler’s beloved volunteer crossing guard. Rain or shine, in a different costume every day, Mr. Morgan greets Eagles with music, smiles, and unwavering dedication – often arriving by 7 a.m. to pick up trash and lend a helping hand. Mr. Morgan was recently recognized for his service at a school assembly (that’s him in the #PeppaPig costume).
