Boys Tennis (CIF SJS Playoffs)

Pleasant Grove 8, Central Valley 1

The Hawks drew a tough opponent in the SJS Playoffs and fell to the Pleasant Grove Eagles by the score of 8-1.  The CV win came from Alex Aguilar (#5 singles).  Congrats to the Hawks on an amazing season that included the first ever Boys Tennis WAC Championship.  We do still have some tennis action left as the Hawks have representation at the CIF SJS Doubles Tournament in Roseville on May 18th.

Stunt Cheer (CIF SJS Playoffs)

Round 1: Central Valley 27, Golden Valley 8

Round 2: Central Valley 28, Summerville 27

Semi-Finals: Twelve Bridges-Lincoln 16, Central Valley 3

The Stunt Cheer team took us on a wild ride through the Section Playoffs as they advanced the furthest they have in program history.  The Hawks dominated in their home game last Wednesday vs. Golden Valley and then followed that up with a dramatic win on Friday over the #4 seeded Summerville Bears.  CV advanced to the Section Semi-Finals in Roseville on Saturday, but eventually fell to the Section Champion, Twelve Bridges Rhinos from Lincoln.  Congrats to our Stunt Cheer team on their back-to-back league championships.

Softball

Central Valley 15, Johansen 0

The Hawks continued to take care of business in the WAC with a dominant 15-0 win over the Johansen Vikings on Friday.  The Hawks are now 12-0 in WAC play (15-8 overall) as they approach a very important week.  CV will host the Lathrop Spartans today and then will travel to Ceres High on Wednesday to wrap up the regular season.  Both opponents are chasing the Hawks in pursuit of the WAC title.  Good luck to our Hawks as they look to close out the regular season in style.  Softball playoff brackets will be posted by the end of this week.

Baseball

Central Valley 2, Grace Davis 1

At John Thurman Field in Modesto, the Hawks finished off their regular season and Senior Night in thrilling fashion.  The Hawks and Spartans battled all night in a pitcher’s duel that had Davis ahead 1-0 in the 7th inning.  The Hawks would rally for 2 runs in the bottom of the 7th to walk it off in style with a victory to remember.  This win put an exclamation point on CV’s undefeated run through the WAC, finishing with a record of 14-0, 20-8 overall.  The Hawks will now move into the SJS Division 1 Playoffs as they will host the Lincoln-Stockton Trojans this Wednesday, May 6th at 4:00pm.  We hope to see you there to support our Hawks as they look to advance to the 2nd round.  This is a matchup between the #8 (Hawks) and #9 (Trojans) seeded teams, so we expect a tightly contested game.
