October 1, 2024-March 31, 2025

Dr. Amy Peterman invites students to explore the wonders of reading and enjoy monthly rewards as part of her new student book club, CUSD Reads.

Students who read a book in any month from October through March and write a short review (or draw a picture for grades TK/K) can earn a reward including stickers, bookmarks, books, reading lights, and more. Read a book every month to collect a reward every month!* Check this page and in our school libraries for monthly book themes chosen by Dr. Peterman, along with monthly reward announcements.

Year-end E-reader Drawings

Every review a student turns in at their school library goes into a year-end drawing for a free e-reader (one per school). The more books a student reads, the more reviews they can turn in ... and the greater the odds of winning!

Ceres Library Partnership

Through our partnership with the Ceres Public Library located at 2250 Magnolia Street, students who check out a book within the monthly theme will also get a stamp on their Ceres Public Library Passport.

Book Chat/Story Time

Students can dish with Dr. Peterman about their favorite books or hear her read a story during in-person Book Chats and Virtual Story Time! Please check back for details.

Get started today:

1. Read any book.*

2. Write a review (TK/K may draw a picture).

3. Turn the review in at your school library.

4. Collect a reward (one per month).

5. Be automatically entered into your school's year-end drawing for an e-reader.
